Coventry's 2026 Coaching Team

This summer, we are pleased to have Rachel Bishop joining the Sailfish as our Head Coach. Rachel comes to us with a wealth of swim coaching experience, as previous Coach of Hampton YMCA Snappers swim team for 6 years, and swim instructor for both Hampton and Princess Anne YMCA.  Rachel is also a former summer swimmer with the GPSA, having grown up as Langley Stingray.  We're delighted to have Rachel as a Sailfish!

Assistant Coach:

Carrie Smith is joining the Sailfish this year as our Assistant/Minnows Coach. Carrie comes to us with 5 years of experience as a swim instructor at various Peninsula and Southside YMCAs, USCG MWR, as well as at Old Dominion University. As a swimmer, she swam with the Victory YMCA Barracudas as well as with the Marlbank Mudtoads. Carrie has coaching experience with the Victory YMCA and Princess Anne Aquatics Center. We're excited to welcome Carrie to the Sailfish Team!

Junior Coaches:

Tyler Brohimer - Tyler has been a Sailfish for many years, and, for the third year, he brings his enthusiasm to our team as a Junior Coach. In addition to his swim experience, he has experience as an Assistant Coach with the HVA Current for the last two years.  Tyler will be supporting our developing swimmers, encouraging them as they go from strength to strength!

Stacy Turgeon - Stacy has been a Sailfish for many years, and is excited to be returning as a Junior Coach again this year! Stacy is a varsity swimmer for her high school and qualified for States as a freshman. She can’t wait to help out and cheer on all of the swimmers this season!

Emma Turgeon - Emma has been a Coventry Sailfish swimmer since she was in 1st grade. She has swam on the varsity team for her high school for three years. This is her second year as a junior coach. She is looking forward to seeing everyone’s growth this year!

We're delighted to have these coaches on our team this year and can't wait for the summer!
